VWG Mechanical were appointed Mechanical contractor by AHR Building Consultancy Ltd to replace the boilers and all welded pipework within the main plantroom on site as well as overhaul and modify the onsite building management system (BMS) controls.
We were able to complete the works, including installation of 700kW boiler plant and full replacement of all welded pipework and onsite BMS within the consolidated 6 week programme.
The confidence gained from VWG Mechanical’s approach to this work led to the client negotiating the replacement of the main house boilers and associated plant. We were able to value engineer the scheme with NOVO Consulting and AHR to fit within the client’s budget.
We installed over 750kW of Hamworthy boilers and an ARBE PHEX within the basement plantroom during this second phase of work. These works were completed during the Autumn term when students and teachers were prestent. We therefore worked closely with the school and AHR to design a programme of works that would ensure limited disruption to the school day and particular considerations given to the health and safety of all on site.
Feedback from Michael Clay, AHR Building Consultancy, “The particular challenge from the project management side was the strict timescales involved. There were only a few manufacturers that provided the deliver-ability without compromising on quality as Remeha could. Overall, a very successful project.”
