Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline year 2021 – 01/01/2021-31/12/2021

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline 2021 year emissions:

Scope 1  55.86 t CO2e

Scope 2  1.26 t CO2e

Scope 3  51.42 t CO2e

Total emissions 108.54 t CO2e

Benchmark Emissions

Reporting year 2024 – 01/01/2024-31/12/2024

2024 year emissions:

Scope 1 89.58 t CO2e

Scope 2 2.85 t CO2e

Scope 3 39.07 t CO2e

Total emissions 131.50 t CO2e

Current Emissions Reporting

Reporting year 2025 – 01/01/2025-31/12/2025

2025 year emissions:

Scope 1 132.07 t CO2e

Scope 2 1.85 t CO2e

Scope 3 52.89 t CO2e

Total emissions 186.81 t CO2e

Emissions commentary

Scope 1 has increased due to vehicle emissions. The increase in this figure is due to:

  • Organic growth of the company has led to additional employment and therefore an increase in fleet requirements. As there are more vehicles this has resulted in more fuel being used by the business.
  • Projects have been located further away than previous years which has meant our employees are travelling more miles and using more fuel.

Scope 2 has reduced slightly due to using less kWh at our business premises and changing to a green tariff.

Scope 3 has increased and is linked to the scope 1 increase. Scope 3 includes ‘Fuel and energy-related activities for an upstream vehicle fleet’ and covers the indirect greenhouse gas emissions from extracting, producing, and transporting the fuels or electricity consumed by the company’s vehicles.

Carbon Reduction Projects and initiatives

The following carbon reduction initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint are planned for the current reporting

period (01/01/26-31/12/26):

  • Increased utilisation of our two off-site pre-fabrication facilities. This will reduce the number of operatives travelling to site, reduce the distance travelled by our local material suppliers, and reduce the waste created as we can store any surplus materials and use them on future projects.
  • Review and consideration of introducing further hybrid/ electric vehicles where feasible.
  • Replace all florescent lighting with LED lighting.
  • We encourage the use of public transport among our workforce and offer a cycle to work scheme to provide bikes for those who can use to travel to the office etc. We will continue to encourage uptake of the scheme.
  • Increased utilisation of technology to communicate with our stakeholders, clients, suppliers and operatives therefore reducing unnecessary travel.
