VWG Mechanical were appointed to design and install a new boiler plant within the school.
We installed a cost effective three modular boiler arrangement to ensure that the required heating load was available at all times.
The original boiler plant operated at a temperature difference of 11 degrees which is effectively twice the flow against the modular arrangement. To overcome this hydraulic problem, a low loss header was installed such that the primary circuit through the boiler plant can operate at the higher temperature than that required through the actual heat emitters (radiators).
This approach also gave us the opportunity to achieve the maximum output available from the existing hot water storage cylinder.
Works were carried out during the six week holiday and completed on time within a condensed programme to ensure the heating system was up and running in time for the new school term in September.
